Finance Manager

We are recruiting for a Finance Manager. This is a crucial role as part of the Finance Team, as we look forward to 26/27 and beyond!

 

 

 

The role has flexible hours, of around 15 per month and the salary for our cooperative is currently £12.60 per hour (salary currently under review). This is in line with our commitment to match the National Living Wage Foundation’s recommended figure. Much of the role can be undertaken at a time that suits the Manager.

Job Specification:

Purpose
This role manages the financial reporting for the co-operative. It collaborates with the bookkeeper to maintain appropriate financial records and provide the directors with the information they need. 

Responsibilities 

  • Maintain the chart of accounts in QuickBooks 
  • Import monthly data from the till system into QuickBooks. 
  • Maintain accruals and prepayments 
  • Reconcile and review accounts in QuickBooks each month and finalise monthly reports. 
  • Prepare and maintain budgets. 
  • Investigate and explain variance to budget. 
  • Provide advice and support to the bookkeeper. 
  • Support the directors in the interpretation of financial performance and decision-making. 
  • Submit VAT returns. 
  • Assist the preparation of annual accounts. 

Capabilities required. 

  • Experience of working with accounts 
  • Experience of using spreadsheets (e.g Excel) 
  • Initiative-taking 
  • Organisation of work and achievement of deadlines 
  • Communications skills  
  • Teamworking 

 Capabilities desired. 

  • Familiarity with QuickBooks Online 
  • Accounting qualification 
  • Experience in a co-operative 
  • Experience in a retail environment
