Terracycle are a company that collect and recycle a wide range of items that can’t be recycled in the council’s street or waste centre collection points. They have local collection points, and in return make donations to causes nominated by the local volunteers.
Scoop and Scales are pleased to offer customers the opportunity to drop off their items for Terracycle at each of our events. We then drop these items off at the local collection point with Kate Ellis, with funds going to support Kicks Count a charity that helps prevent still births and neonatal issues.
There are some common items that we get donated that can’t go through Terracycle (please put these in your silver bin):
– Tetrapack drinks containers
– Milk cartons
– Frozen veg and fruit packets
– Fruit nets
– Plastic packaging and wrapping from fruit and veg
– Birthday card wrappers
– Plastic meat trays
– Coffee bean pouches
