A perfect afternoon snack or an addition to the packed lunch. delicious served with marmite!
You will need: **available at Scoop and Scales
250g plain flour**
1/2 tsp salt
1tsp dry mustard
4tsp baking powder**
50g butter
100g mature cheddar cheese
1 egg beaten
150ml milk
What to do:
- Sift flour, salt, mustard and baking powder into a bowl
- Cut and rub the butter into the flour mix until it resembles fine bread crumbs
- Mix in the cheese
- Add the egg and fold in half the liquid
- Work into a soft dough adding the remaining liquid until you have a dough that doesn’t crumble but isn’t sticky.
- Roll out to 2cm thick and cut into circles
- Cook on a warm baking sheet
- Bake at 220degC, gas mark 7 for 10-15 minutes
